There are numerous direct flights to Malaga from all over Europe and beyond (from 28 airports in the U.K. alone). Indirect flights are also available, or extend your holiday by flying to a different Spanish city (Granada is nearest but has few international flights) and on to us by hire car or public transport. Malaga airport has an extremely useful and comprehensive website.
Most airlines now offer cheaper fares if you book early. In the current recession, there are a few last-minute bargains but it's risky to rely on getting one, especially for school and public holiday periods; you are more likely to end up paying a lot more!
MALAGA - CORTIJO ROMERO.
We offer a private bus service, with British guide, £25 each way, journey time 1.5 hours. (Public buses take 4 - 5.5 hours.) Most guests come this way: you travel together, it's cheaper and it minimises vehicle pollution.
To connect with our bus, book an outward flight due in either by 12.15 for the first bus collection, or by 15:30 latest for the second bus. Your return flight should leave after 12 noon and there is just one bus.
Can't get flights for these times? We can send a taxi to take you for £72 each way, on course start/finish dates only. (If you book one yourself, it will cost at least 190 euros each way.) A taxi can be arranged at other times but at cost (please ask).
From Malaga to Cortijo Romero, allow 1.5 hours; from Granada 1.25 hours; from Northern Spanish seaports, 12-16 hours. There are excellent car hire facilities at all Spanish airports, sea ports and main rail stations. The Malaga airport web site price checks all 23 car hire companies operating there.
By Public Bus
There are good services from all over Europe to Malaga. We can pick you up there or you can go all the way to Órgiva, just 15 minutes from Cortijo Romero. Our local public bus company (part of the Alsa network in Spain) is actually owned by National Express, a British company that also operates Eurolines , where you can book. We can also provide information sheets for the services to Órgiva, our local town.
Journey time from Malaga is about 5 hours; Granada centre, 1.5 hours.
There are ultra-modern high speed services to Malaga and Granada from Madrid and Barcelona, connecting with similar services from many European countries. For comprehensive information see the website "Seat 61" . The Spanish operator "Renfe" has more information in Spanish and English.
