Writing is one of the simplest yet most powerful tools for personal transformation. It can move us swiftly into the wealth, depth and surprises of our inner landscapes, transforming the raw material we find there into imaginative gold.
This course will experiment with a wide range of different kinds of writing, letting us discover images, metaphors, stories and myths that are uniquely ours yet which link with universal themes. Finding and sharing ‘the words to say it’ can reveal unexpected insights, triggering compassion, truth, humour, deep healing and change.
As 14th century poet Lalla writes:
I didn’t trust it for a moment,
but I drank it anyway,
the wine of my own poetry.
It gave me the daring to take hold
of the darkness and tear it down
and cut it into little pieces.
'I find myself writing so much more clearly and directly from the heart... skilled, insightful tuition.' Steve Small, teacher
`the perfect environment for nurturing my writing... warm, humorous, sensitive... I discovered a long-hidden creative voice which was a joy to explore.' Nick Durnan, stone-carver
'always encouraging and helpful'. Denis Ostler, retired vet
'I cannot recommend Rosie highly enough... her workshops did more for me than the entire M.A. course! Her generosity of spirit lifts work to new, exciting levels...' Deborah Gregory, novelist
