Alison Goldie has taught improvisation, drama and comedy for over 25 years, to adults, young people and children of all levels of ability. She was an actor/writer in The Weird Sisters theatre company in which she co-created 3 award-winning shows which toured all over the world, and a core member of the renowned improv troupe, Spontaneous Combustion.
Alison has been a television and radio presenter for the BBC and others (for example, The Travel Show, Dream Ticket and Carlton Country on TV and Loose Ends on BBC Radio 4) and was a stand-up comic for several years in her 20s. She is a theatre director and deviser of plays, musicals and sketches for companies such as Vienna's English Theatre, Youth Music Theatre UK, and the Trinity Guildhall International Playwriting Competitions. Alison toured her autobiographical one-woman show, Lady in Bed, around the UK, and is currently working on a new solo show, Love v Life.
Alison's book, The Improv Book: Improvisation for Theatre, Comedy, Education and Life was published by Oberon in 2015 and has received unanimously positive reviews. She regularly teaches improvisation and creativity workshops for Cortijo Romero, Skyros Holistic Holidays, and The Grange amongst others
