Kate Daniels
Originally classically trained, Kate began singing in a punk band The Mighty Dwarves. She sang as an actress in a production of Oh What a Lovely War! and somehow managed simultaneously to dance, play accordion and sing in a national tour of Anthony Minghella’s play A Little Like Drowning.
She went on to sing folk, blues and jazz in an acappella duo, later Pocket Cabaret, and has sung and recorded with some of the most distinguished jazz musicians including saxophonist/clarinettist Tony Coe, bass player Alec Dankworth, pianist John Horler and guitarist John Etheridge. Last year, Kate launched and toured her second CD Atmospherics, coining the term Jazz Noir to describe its style. She is currently writing material for her next album.
