Jessica Williams Ciemnyjewski
From a young age Jessica began exploring the world she grew up in through drama and by recording her dreams. She trained as an actress at E.15 Acting School and worked for a decade in theatre, radio and film. Her interest in dreams and the inner world, led to a training in dramatherapy and later forensic psychotherapy, her clinical practice being focused, at the time, in prison and secure hospital settings. She has also specialised in the treatment of addiction and eating disorders and has many years experience working with groups and individuals.
In 1991 Jessica and a colleague founded The Theatre of Reflection, of which she has been the artistic director since 1993. The focus has been to explore themes arising from clinical work through devised theatre, using dramatherapeutic tools to explore the material deeply in a process oriented way, seeking to produce theatre that is authentic, challenging and cutting edge. Jessica is currently engaged in further developing an autobiographical piece, 'When Angels Speak'. Written by her, she first performed this at the fabulous 'Sprechwerk Theater' in Hamburg and is now re-writing and deepening the material towards further performances in 2018.
For Jessica, the imagination, the world of dreams and the arts, have been the vehicle through which she has navigated this life's journey. She draws from this rich source when accompanying other people on their own paths towards growth and healing.
