Trevor Taylor
Trevor has been involved in martial arts since he was 6 years old. As a child and teenager, he learned judo from his father, who is a Black Belt 3rd Dan. He has 35 years experience of tai chi and was a Registered instructor of The Tai Chi Union Of Great Britain for many years. He also studied Shotokai Karate for 10 years.
"In my life I've done many things. I started out as a mechanic and after finishing my aprenticeship traveled and worked all over Europe and the Middle East, ending up on the Isle of Skye where I lived in a commune for 6 years. It was there that I started to learn tai chi and have kids. After this I moved to Spain with my family where we bought an abandoned olive farm. We were there for 25 years and gradually we restored the land and houses. In the process I worked restoring other old farms and assorted building projects until I quit this line of work to focus more on tai chi and producing quality organic olive oil from our farm. I also played celtic music in a local band, which is another love of my life.
In 2011 I relocated to the foothills of the Serra de Estrella mountains in Portugal where I am regenerating a woodland. This project is very exciting as I've always been passionate about all aspects of wood lands, forest renewal and conservation. I come back to Orgiva once a year to run the tree planting course. I often run the Chillout and Discovery weeks which always include a Tai Chi element and music.
I love coming back to the Alpujarras and Cortijo Romero where I was resident Tai Chi Instructor for many years.”
